CSHA's Trails Program
Sharing
the trails with a favorite equine partner and friends can be great
therapy,
both physically and mentally. Enjoying
the outdoors is a healthy experience. In
California, we are fortunate to have nice weather for the most part and
many
diverse parklands and trails to explore.
We can often experience multiple ecosystems in just a few
hours of a
ride in one park: cool ferny redwood
groves to mottled shade in oak woodlands, meadows thick with
wildflowers or the
golden grasses of Fall, great expanses of granite slopes dotted with
woodlands
gathered around gurgling mountain streams, wide-open beaches offering
whale-sightings and a deep breath of sea air amongst dunes rich with
flora and
fauna.
CSHA
was founded by 8 organizations and associations committed to
equestrians having
access and positive experiences in parks and on trails in California. As urban boundaries expand more and more, we
equestrians and trail lovers need to be ever more vigilant in
maintaining our
access to the parks and trails. We also
need to be aware of assisting in local expansion of parks and trails,
to
maintain an equestrian voice in the planning and opening and future of
the
public lands.
Together
we can help each other make connections in our communities, help
maintain the existing
trails, plan for future trails, raise funds for trails, and enjoy
trails in a
group with the same purpose in mind:
getting out on trails for recreation.
Your
State Trails Chair wants to help you make those local connections, and
celebrate successes, share trail activities and help raise funds for
trails. Watch this website link for new
ideas and information, and a way to share information between regions. Contact Sarah with ideas or information about
what is happening in your area. Let’s
work together to keep trails and parks open and available for all of us
to
enjoy, and hopefully further expand the areas we have available to us.
