Parader's Grant Program
In 1992 the CSHA High Point Paraders created a Parader's Grant Program to raise funds to be donated to qualified organizations that work with Horses and "Special People" (handicapped and physically/emotionally disturbed children and adults). We have been successful and over the past years we have donated a number of Grants to organizations who have provided us with information regarding the hstory of their organization and a current schedule of activities. Every year information is due no later than September 15". All funds collected are donated as Grants. No administrative costs.
There are many "Special People'' who need our help. It is gratifying to know that there are so many horses and people who are willing to spend the time and effort to help these individuals. We owe them a debt of gratitude.
The Parader's Grant is a wonderful way that all of us can help. Please spread the word to your relatives, neighbors, friends and business associates. Make donations payable to California State Horsemen's Association, ear-marked for Parader's Grant. Donations are tax deductible.

CSHA History (please help)
I mentioned at the Convention that I would be compiling information, pictures, and stories from our members so I could put our history on the website in the future. I need pictures to have information (who, what, when, & where) if they send it to me I will scan it and get it back to them at quarterly or convention, if they can scan or email it to me that would be better. I need to know who started which programs and when and other stories with dates that members think might be important, I will add it all in chronological order and present it at one of the quarterlies for everyone to see and make changes and agree upon before having it put on the website.

PHOTO LEGEND: |
Our 2007 scholarship was awarded to Camille Knopf, a fourth year student at UC Davis specializing in equine medicine and diagnostic imaging. Camille is a graduate of Vintage High in Napa and did her undergraduate work at Westmont College in Santa Barbara where she earned a B.S. degree in biology and Spanish. Prior to entering UC Davis, Camille found time to work at the Santa Barbara Zoo doing research in elephant hematology, captain of the Westmont polo team and served as director of student activities at Westmont College. She considers her extracurricular activities to include show jumping, serving as a Pony Club instructor, church volunteer, Spanish translator, show jumping traveling and oh yes, spending time with her husband. Camille is passionate about becoming an equine veterinarian and feels blessed to have received the quality of education available from UC Davis. Her plans are to become an ambulatory equine practitioner. |
